"The MHFS 10k for Men event encapsulates the Breathing Space ethos of 'taking some time away from the stresses and strains of modern life in order to maintain good mental wellbeing' and we believe that the thousands of guys taking part in the 10k for Men event are literally taking their Breathing Space."

Here’s what some of the ‘Team Breathing Space’ have to say:
Johannes Parkkonen: “We all have emotional ups and downs, but men still often seem to feel ashamed to admit this. I have found running a really good way to get rid of anxiety and clear my head. You feel very relaxed after a good run, ready to deal with whatever life throws at you. I think Breathing Space have been brilliant in raising the profile of the link between our physical and mental wellbeing, and I’m very happy to run this race as part of Team Breathing Space.”
Paul McCusker:"I’ve entered the 10k for Men since its started in 2006 and the atmosphere is getting better every year so I'm really looking forward to this year as more men will be there showing that us men can do well to look after ourselves one way or the other.
Paul has also set up a jogging group for the hearing impaired as part of his role as with Deaf Connections in Glasgow and adds: "Hopefully by setting up a Deaf walk/jog group which started a few months ago gives me a boost to show myself as a role model to Deaf community of how easy it is to enjoy any physical activity such as jogging which can be done at any time - no excuses but need to motivate and enjoy on a regular basis."
Paul Scott : "I took part in the 10k for Men event last year and really enjoyed the day, it's a great way to celebrate father's day. It gives you a real sense of achievement to get out there and complete the run along with the other guys in Team Breathing Space so I'm looking forward to getting across the finish line again this year."
Andy Allan: “I run my own business which can at times be stressful and I find running a great way to relieve tension and provide clear thinking time. As a result of getting back to exercise have joined a club and although I have no illusions about being an athlete I really enjoy being part of an organised group and the companionship it brings.”
